Frequently asked questions
> Using hearing aids
Why are audio guides used during certain tours?
So you can follow my explanations even in noisy or crowded places, such as museums or monuments. You will hear me directly through your headphones throughout the tour.
Are these audio guides?
No, these are not recorded commentaries or translations. It is a live transmission system: I speak into a microphone, and you listen in real time.
Is it mandatory?
Yes, in certain places such as the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles, the Sainte-Chapelle, the Musée d'Orsay, and the Opéra Garnier, the use of audio guides is mandatory.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
No, it is not mandatory. You can bring your own headphones (3.5 mm jack), otherwise I will provide you with single-use headphones that you can keep afterwards.
Is there a charge?
The loan of audio guides is included in the quote if their use is planned. Everything is specified in advance.
What happens if they are lost or broken?
In the event of damage or loss of a receiver, a fee of €120 including tax per device will be charged.
> Booking conditions
Are admission tickets included in the price?
No, unless otherwise stated, the price of the guided tour does not include admission tickets to museums or monuments. However, I can help you book them if necessary.
Do I need to book well in advance?
For some very popular sites (such as the Musée d'Orsay, the Opéra Garnier, or the Palace of Versailles), it is strongly recommended that you book in advance. There may also be a mandatory reservation fee for groups, which allows for faster access by avoiding queues.
How many people can be on a guided tour?
To ensure a comfortable visit, I limit groups to a maximum of 30 people. In some museums (such as the Louvre or Orsay), the limit is reduced to 25 people per group, in accordance with the rules of the establishments.
What if my group is larger than that?
No problem! If you have more people, I can put you in touch with trusted partner guides to divide the group into several smaller groups. We coordinate everything together to ensure that the experience remains smooth and enjoyable.
> Cancellations & unforeseen circumstances
What are the cancellation terms if you have to cancel the tour?
The exact terms will be specified in the quote. In general, the following applies:
Cancellation more than 30 days before the tour: 50% of the amount is due.
Cancellation less than 30 days before the tour: 100% of the amount is due.
I understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. If this is the case, I will do my best to reschedule the tour for another date, depending on my availability.
Please note: dated tickets purchased in advance (for museums or monuments) are non-refundable.
What if an unforeseen event forces me to cancel?
If I have to cancel for an exceptional reason, I undertake to:
Offer you a partner guide colleague to conduct the tour at no extra charge.
Or postpone the tour to a later date.
Or refund you in full if none of these solutions suit you.
What about exceptional circumstances (strikes, weather, closures, etc.)?
If the tour cannot take place for reasons beyond my control (unexpected closure, strike, extreme weather, major disruptions, etc.), no refund can be made, but the tour can be postponed, subject to my availability.
In any case, I am always available to discuss the best possible solution.
